Mosaic Terms of Use
Last updated: October 2, 2026
1. About These Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Creators Guild of America ("CGA," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your access to and use of Mosaic, CGA's verification and credits platform, available at
https://mosaic.creatorsguildofamerica.org, together with the features, emails, and services we provide through it (together, "Mosaic").
By creating an account, signing in, purchasing a membership, or otherwise using Mosaic, you agree to these Terms and to the
Mosaic Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information. If you do not agree, do not use Mosaic.
Please read Section 22 (Dispute Resolution) carefully. It requires most disputes to be resolved by individual binding arbitration, waives class actions and jury trials, and explains how you can opt out.
2. Who Operates Mosaic
Mosaic is operated by Creators Guild of America, 4500 Park Granada Blvd, Suite 202, Calabasas, CA 91302.
3. How These Terms Relate to CGA's Other Terms
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create a Mosaic account or purchase a membership. By using Mosaic, you confirm that you meet these requirements. If you use Mosaic on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and "you" includes that organization.
You may not use Mosaic if you are prohibited from doing so under applicable law, or if we have previously suspended or removed your account.
5. Your Account
Creating an account. You can create an account with an email address and password, or by signing in with Google. If you sign up with an email address and password, you must confirm your email address before your account is fully active. Accounts created through Google sign-in are treated as confirmed because Google has already verified the email address.
Accurate information. You agree to provide information that is true, current, and complete, and to keep it updated.
Security. You are responsible for keeping your password and sign-in methods secure and for all activity under your account. Do not share your account. Tell us promptly at
support@creatorsguildofamerica.org if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
One person, one account. Each account belongs to one person or one organization. You may not create an account using another person's identity or create accounts in bulk.
Unconfirmed accounts. An account that has not completed email confirmation does not have a public profile page.
6. What Mosaic Does
Mosaic lets creators and the companies they work with build a verified record of professional work. Depending on the features available to you, Mosaic allows you to:
- Create a public profile at a web address based on your username.
- List professional work credits and ask a company contact to confirm them.
- Invite collaborators to Mosaic by email.
- Apply for CGA verification, including the Yellow Seal for verified creators. Verification for brands, including the Purple Seal, may be offered in the future.
- Take free educational courses and earn certifications with public records.
- Apply for and purchase a paid CGA membership.
We may add, change, or remove features over time.
7. Credits, Approvers, and Collaborators
Listing credits. When you list a work credit, you are making a statement about your professional history. You agree that every credit you list is accurate and that you will not list work you did not perform, overstate your role, or misdescribe a project.
Naming an approver. For each credit, you may name a contact at the relevant company (an "approver") by providing their email address. Mosaic will email that person to ask them to confirm the credit. By naming an approver, you confirm that:
- You have a reasonable, good-faith basis to believe the person has knowledge of the work and is an appropriate person to confirm it.
- The email address belongs to that person, to the best of your knowledge.
- You are not using the approval feature to contact someone for any other purpose.
Inviting collaborators. You may invite others to Mosaic by email. Only invite people you know and reasonably expect to welcome the invitation.
People who are not Mosaic users. Approvers and invitees have not agreed to these Terms. We send them only the emails needed to handle the request you initiated, and we never add approvers to marketing lists. How we handle their information is described in the Privacy Policy.
Approval is not a guarantee. An approver's confirmation reflects that person's response at the time. CGA does not independently confirm every detail of every credit, and a confirmation does not mean CGA guarantees that the credit is accurate. See Section 8.
Disputing a credit. If you believe a credit on Mosaic is inaccurate, including a credit that names you or your company, contact us at
support@creatorsguildofamerica.org with the profile address and the reason for your concern. We will review it in good faith. While we review, we may hide, mark, or remove the credit. Our decision about how a credit appears on Mosaic is final for purposes of Mosaic, but it does not limit any rights you have under law.
8. Verification and Seals
What verification means. CGA offers verification to help the creator economy rely on professional identity and work history. When CGA verifies an account, including by awarding a Yellow Seal to a creator or, in the future, a Purple Seal to a brand, it means that CGA reviewed the evidence and information available to it at that time and, using reasonable efforts, concluded that the account met CGA's verification criteria then in effect.
What verification does not mean. Verification is based largely on information, documents, and confirmations supplied by users and by third parties. We use reasonable efforts to review that information, but we cannot detect every falsehood. In particular:
- Email addresses and domain names can be spoofed, forwarded, shared, or compromised, and a confirmation sent from a company email address does not prove the sender had authority to give it.
- Documents and links can be altered or fabricated.
- Information that was accurate when reviewed can become outdated.
For these reasons, verification is not a guarantee of any person's or organization's identity, qualifications, quality of work, conduct, financial standing, or legal compliance. Verification is not an endorsement by CGA of any person, brand, product, or service, and it does not create any partnership, agency, or employment relationship with CGA.
Your responsibility when relying on verification. If you use Mosaic to evaluate someone, verification is one input. You are responsible for your own decisions, including any contract, payment, or hiring decision, and for any additional diligence your situation calls for.
Verification criteria and decisions. CGA sets and may update its verification criteria. CGA decides, in its reasonable discretion, whether to grant, deny, suspend, or revoke verification. Applying does not entitle you to verification.
Revocation. We may suspend or revoke verification at any time if we learn that information was false or misleading, if an account no longer meets our criteria, if a user violates these Terms, or if we reasonably believe revocation is needed to protect the integrity of verification. Where practical and appropriate, we will tell you why and give you an opportunity to respond. We may act immediately where we suspect fraud, impersonation, or harm to others.
Using the seal. If you are verified, you may display your seal only on Mosaic and as CGA permits in its published guidelines, and only while your verification is active. You may not alter the seal, display it after it has been revoked, imply that CGA endorses a specific product or campaign, or use it in a way that is misleading. Your right to display the seal is a limited, revocable, non-transferable permission that ends automatically if your verification ends.
9. Certifications
CGA offers free educational courses with quizzes. If you pass, Mosaic issues a certification and creates a public certification record at a unique web address.
A certification confirms that the account completed the course and passed its assessment on the date shown. It is not a government license, a degree, a professional accreditation, or a statement that CGA endorses your work. You must complete assessments yourself and without assistance that the course does not allow. We may revoke a certification, and update or remove its public record, if we reasonably believe it was obtained improperly or if course requirements were not met.
10. Membership, Dues, and Billing
Applications. Membership applications are reviewed by CGA staff. Dues are charged when you submit your application. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. If we decline your application, we will refund the dues you paid for that application.
Payment processing. Membership payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. through Stripe Checkout within Mosaic. CGA does not receive or store your full payment card number. Your use of Stripe is also subject to
Stripe's terms and privacy policy. You authorize CGA, through Stripe, to charge the payment method you provide for all dues and applicable taxes.
Automatic renewal. UNLESS YOU CANCEL, YOUR MEMBERSHIP WILL RENEW AUTOMATICALLY AT THE END OF EACH MEMBERSHIP TERM FOR THE SAME TERM LENGTH, AND WE WILL CHARGE YOUR PAYMENT METHOD THE DUES THEN IN EFFECT, AS DISPLAYED TO YOU AT CHECKOUT. The membership price, the length of each term, and the renewal date are shown at checkout before you pay and in your account. By completing checkout, you agree to these recurring charges until you cancel.
Cancelling. You can cancel automatic renewal at any time by emailing
support@creatorsguildofamerica.org. Cancellation stops future renewals. Your membership remains active until the end of the term you have already paid for, and then ends.
Refunds. Except where required by law or stated in these Terms, dues are non-refundable, including for partial terms.
Price changes. We may change membership dues. If we do, we will notify you in advance by email at the address on your account, and the new price will apply at your next renewal. If you do not want to pay the new price, you may cancel before your renewal date.
Failed payments. If a renewal charge fails, we may retry the charge, ask you to update your payment method, or suspend or end your membership.
Taxes. Prices do not include taxes unless stated. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.
Nature of dues. Membership dues are paid to CGA. They are not charitable contributions.
Receipts. We will send a receipt for each charge.
11. Public Information
Some information on Mosaic is public by design, because the purpose of Mosaic is to let others see verified professional records. Public information can include your profile page, the credits you list and their confirmation status, your verification status, and your certification records. Public pages may be viewed by anyone, indexed by search engines, and copied by others. Do not put information on your profile that you do not want to be public.
You can edit or remove most profile content and credits in your account. To ask us to remove a certification record or other public information you cannot remove yourself, contact
support@creatorsguildofamerica.org. Removing information from Mosaic does not remove copies that others have already made or that search engines have cached.
12. Your Content
Ownership. You keep ownership of the content you submit to Mosaic, such as profile text, credit descriptions, images, and links ("Your Content").
License to CGA. You grant CGA a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt (for example, to fit formatting), and distribute Your Content for the purpose of operating, providing, securing, and improving Mosaic and promoting Mosaic and CGA's verification program. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from Mosaic, except for copies retained in backups for a limited period, content others have already shared, and records we must keep for legal reasons.
Your promises. You confirm that you have the rights needed to submit Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or violate any law.
Removal. We may remove or restrict content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or the law, or that harms the integrity of Mosaic.
13. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Provide false, misleading, or fabricated information, credits, documents, or confirmations.
- Impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
- Name an approver or invite a person for any purpose other than the intended one, or use Mosaic to send unwanted messages.
- Use, display, or imply verification, a seal, or a certification you do not hold.
- Collect, scrape, or harvest information from Mosaic, including email addresses or profile data, by automated or manual means, except as allowed by CGA in writing.
- Use bots, scripts, or other automated means to create accounts, sign in, or interact with Mosaic.
- Attempt to bypass, disable, probe, or interfere with any security, bot protection, rate limiting, or access control.
- Introduce malware or interfere with the operation of Mosaic or its infrastructure.
- Use Mosaic to harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against anyone.
- Use Mosaic in violation of any law or anyone's rights.
14. Security and Bot Protection
To protect users and the integrity of verification, Mosaic uses security measures that may include automated bot detection on sign-up and sign-in pages, limits on how often requests can be made, and logging of security events. These measures may occasionally block legitimate activity. If you believe you have been blocked in error, contact us at
support@creatorsguildofamerica.org. We do not publish details of how these protections work.
15. CGA's Intellectual Property
Mosaic, including its software, design, text, graphics, and course materials, is owned by CGA or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. CGA's names, logos, seals, and related marks are trademarks of CGA. Except for the limited rights expressly granted in these Terms, no rights are transferred to you. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from Mosaic or its course materials except as these Terms allow.
If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them without obligation to you.
16. Third-Party Services and Links
Mosaic relies on third-party services, such as Google sign-in and Stripe payments, and may link to third-party websites. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. CGA is not responsible for third-party services or websites.
17. Communications
Electronic communications. You agree that we may communicate with you electronically, including by email and through Mosaic, and that electronic notices, agreements, receipts, and disclosures satisfy any requirement that they be in writing.
Account and service emails. We will send you emails needed to operate your account and Mosaic, such as confirmation, security, approval, receipt, renewal, and policy notices. These are part of the service and you cannot opt out of them while you have an account.
CGA news and updates. When you create an account, we may also send you emails about CGA news, programs, and events. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any of those emails. Unsubscribing does not stop account and service emails.
18. Suspension and Termination
By you. You may stop using Mosaic and close your account at any time by emailing
support@creatorsguildofamerica.org. Closing your account does not cancel a paid membership automatically unless we say so at the time. Cancel automatic renewal as described in Section 10.
By us. We may suspend or terminate your account, remove content, or revoke verification or certifications if you violate these Terms, if we reasonably believe your use creates risk or harm to others or to CGA, if required by law, or if we discontinue Mosaic. Where practical, we will give you notice. If we terminate a paid membership for reasons other than your violation of these Terms, we will refund the unused portion of your dues.
Effect. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Sections 8 (as to disclaimers), 12, 15, and 19 through 26.
19. Disclaimers
MOSAIC, INCLUDING VERIFICATION, SEALS, CREDITS, CERTIFICATIONS, AND ALL INFORMATION ON MOSAIC, IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CGA DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY.
WE USE REASONABLE EFFORTS TO KEEP INFORMATION ON MOSAIC ACCURATE, BUT MUCH OF IT COMES FROM USERS AND THIRD PARTIES. CGA DOES NOT WARRANT THAT ANY PROFILE, CREDIT, CONFIRMATION, VERIFICATION, OR CERTIFICATION IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT, OR THAT MOSAIC WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
20. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CGA AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AGENTS, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO MOSAIC OR THESE TERMS, INCLUDING ANY RELIANCE ON A PROFILE, CREDIT, CONFIRMATION, VERIFICATION, OR CERTIFICATION.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CGA'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO MOSAIC OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO CGA FOR MOSAIC IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
21. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CGA and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from Your Content, your use of Mosaic, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right, including any false credit, confirmation request, or misuse of a seal.
22. Dispute Resolution
Informal resolution. Before starting arbitration or a court case, you and CGA agree to try to resolve the dispute informally. Send a written description of the dispute and the relief you want to
legal@creatorsguildofamerica.org. If the dispute is not resolved within 60 days, either party may proceed as described below.
Binding arbitration. Except for the excluded disputes listed below, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, or Mosaic (a "Dispute") will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules and Procedures, available at
www.jamsadr.com. The arbitration will be conducted by one arbitrator, in Los Angeles, California, or by video, phone, or written submissions if the parties agree. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this Section. The arbitrator's award will be final and may be entered as a judgment in any court with jurisdiction. Fees will be allocated under the JAMS rules.
Excluded disputes. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in court for infringement or misuse of intellectual property or to protect the security of Mosaic.
No class or representative actions. YOU AND CGA EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND AGREE TO BRING CLAIMS ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing
legal@creatorsguildofamerica.org within 30 days after you initially accept these Terms. Your notice must include your full name and the email address on your account, and state that you are opting out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
Time limit. To the extent permitted by law, any claim must be brought within one year after it arises.
23. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Any Dispute not subject to arbitration will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you and CGA consent to their jurisdiction. If you live outside the United States, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence may also apply to you.
24. Compliance With Laws
Your obligations. You agree to use Mosaic in compliance with all laws that apply to you. This includes, where applicable, laws requiring creators and brands to clearly disclose sponsorships, paid relationships, and other material connections in advertising and endorsements. Displaying a CGA seal does not satisfy any disclosure obligation you have. You also confirm that you are not barred from receiving services under U.S. sanctions or export laws.
Our approach. CGA operates Mosaic with the intent to comply with laws that apply to it, including privacy, consumer protection, and email marketing laws. Nothing on Mosaic is legal, tax, or financial advice.
25. Changes to Mosaic and These Terms
We may update Mosaic and these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will notify you by email to the address on your account, by a notice in Mosaic, or both, at least 30 days before the changes take effect, unless a change is required sooner by law or to address security or misuse. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when these Terms were last revised. If you continue to use Mosaic after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using Mosaic and cancel any membership before the effective date. Changes to dispute resolution will not apply to Disputes that arose before the change.
26. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any terms presented at checkout, are the entire agreement between you and CGA about Mosaic. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect and the provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them in connection with a reorganization, merger, or transfer of Mosaic. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control. Headings are for convenience only.
